CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
| Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... |
Despite years of efforts to strengthen governance, promote human rights, and support open civic space, the civil society sector continues to face significant challenges. These include a restrictive operational environment, dwindling donor funding, weak institutional capacities, burdensome regulations, digital surveillance, internet shutdowns, human rights abuses, and economic instability.
Recognising the vital role of civil society in upholding democratic principles, the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI-Node) seeks to better understand Nigeria’s civil society landscape. WACSI-Node will map the sector to identify civil society organisations by category, location, and focus, while assessing their capacity needs in areas such as organisational development, strategic planning, technology, and sustainability across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
