| Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... |
This paper examines how data auditing can strengthen the validity and reliability of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems in complex development contexts. It highlights how systematic data verification can improve data quality, accountability and evidence based decision making, while strengthening programme effectiveness, identifying implementation gaps and supporting adaptive management. The paper also examines challenges including resource constraints, data complexity and limited access in fragile settings, and proposes solutions such as capacity building, standardised audit frameworks, technological innovation and a collaborative audit culture.
