Most Active Organisation Sharing its Impact on the West Africa CSOs E-Directory – ASERD
Aid for Socio-Economic and Rural Development (ASERD), is a legitimate non-governmental organisation located at Nalerigu, North East Regional Capital of Ghana. The organisation envisions a community, where the rural poor, the marginalised and rural women have a good standard of living and contribute pro-actively to equitable and sustainable community development.
ASERD was established in 2018 with the mission to strengthen the capacities of rural communities through socio-economic and livelihood empowerment activities to improve the good and sustainable standard of living. Their thematic area includes agriculture, education, sustainable and rural development among others.
Since its establishment, the organisation has strived and contributed significantly in transforming the lives of the people of Nalerigu and beyond through durbars, workshops, advocacy programs among others. In the month of March 2020, ASERD implemented several activities in the Nalerigu community.
Notable among them was a two-day workshop on Google Suit for over 170 teachers living within the Bunkpurugu and Yunyoo areas; School and peace durbar aimed at sensitising the youth about the dangers associated with conflict and non-peaceful existence living towards societal development; A health committee on COVID-19 and some of the precautionary measures that could be adopted to minimise and prevent the virus from spreading.
The organisation has also impacted widely in the area of education in the district through empowerment programmes and educative competitions that inspire students to become responsible citizens in the country.
The West Africa Civil Society Institute is pleased to have ASERD registered on the West Africa civil society online platform and using it as a medium of communicating their work and existence with the world. The Institute wishes to congratulate ASERD for being the most active organisation on the platform for the month of March and inviting all CSOs in Ghana and across West Africa to join a regional network in making a difference in the world.
