Over 700 Civic Actors from Around the World to Attend Four-day RINGO Learning Festival from October 31
[Accra – 30 October 2022] – Over seven hundred (700) civic actors from around the world would be participating in the RINGO Learning Festival. The festival is a learning and reflection space that seeks to celebrate the work of the RINGO Project.
It will serve as a dedicated forum to discuss strategies that will transform the role of international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) in the global civil society to better respond to today’s challenges.
Hosted by Rights CoLab and in partnership with systems change experts, Reos Partners, the RINGO Project will help balance power and resources between INGOs and local civil society to drive developments that matter to local people
The four-day virtual learning event scheduled for Monday 31 October to 3 November 2022, will create a simulated platform for participants to examine ways to build an effective international and local civil society system working together to tackle global challenges.
Led by experts across different sectors, targeted conversations will be around exploring the eight RINGO prototypes, which aims to influence how INGOs are structured, their funding and accountability models, what this means for organisations locally, and what solidarity is.
Chairing this learning event is a renowned civil society and development expert, Nana Asantewa Afadzinu, Executive Director of the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI).
Afadzinu is a passionate advocate for sustainable development in Africa with over 24 years of experience in civil society.
The festival will also afford participants an opportunity to share knowledge, build connections and test ideas around collaborative processes for systems change in the international and local civil society ecosystem.
RINGO is the first globally coordinated cross-sectoral effort to revolutionise the sector by interrogating the purpose, structures, power, and positioning of INGOs.
Join hundreds of people influencing how INGOs and local civil society can work collaboratively to drive development. Be a part of this learning experience.
