The development process is complex and requires comprehensive strategies involving all sectors in society including government, the private sector and civil society. The idea of key stakeholders working together to resolve common concerns is not new, however, implementing civil society – private sector partnerships in an effective and mutually beneficial manner has been challenging. This paper seeks to explore the various mechanisms through which this partnership can be consolidated in West Africa and the tangible effect it could have on the development of the region.
