WACSI Encourages CSOs to Collaborate Directly with Communities
Jimm Chick Fumunjong, the Head of the Knowledge Management Unit at the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI), has emphasised the importance of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) working closely with community members to ensure the success and sustainability of their projects and programmes.
Mr. Fumunjong made this call while speaking to Awoko Newspaper during the launch of a five-day training session for nine CSOs in Sierra Leone, organised by WACSI under the theme “Mobilising Support” at the Swiss Hotel in Freetown.
The “Mobilising Support” or advocacy for change training is designed to help CSOs explore innovative ways to engage their constituents from communities, villages, and regions. This approach involves collaborating closely with stakeholders to influence and shape policies that are vital for development.
